Welcome to Our Home
Anson Place Care Centre is comprised of an accredited long term care home with 47 residents. Located in the heart of beautiful Hagersville, our country home opened in 1991 and is fully sprinklered. We take pride in the care we deliver, our home cooked meals, and the additional daily services that enhance the lives of our residents.
All of our suites come with an emergency response call bell system and are equipped with fire and smoke alarms. We provide all furniture in the long term care home, but to make it feel like your own home, your personal touches are always welcome. With individually controlled heating, laundry service, cable TV, and washrooms that are all wheelchair accessible, residents enjoy their independence and have time to socialize. Please note that the resident rooms are now served by air conditioning in the summer, with units being removed in the winter. We encourage them to invite family and friends, participate in activities and outings, or just stroll through our gardens.
Visit us today. Enjoy a home-cooked meal in a clean, friendly environment, and make our home yours. If you can’t join us in person, then please enjoy our virtual walkthrough.
Person Centred Living Philosophy
At Anson Place Care Centre, we recognize and value each resident as an individual, with unique strengths and preferences, and as a citizen with rights and influence.
We place equal importance on the emotional, social, spiritual, and cultural well-being of residents, alongside their physical and mental well-being. Our environment is founded on kindness to ensure residents live with their self-defined dignity, autonomy, purpose and security. Our care and services are based on the best prevailing practice models.
We strive to create warm, welcoming home-like environments that are reflective of the residents’ preferences and personalities.
We encourage residents to set personal goals, to stay connected and active within, and outside, the home. As members of a collective community, we welcome external partners into the home to support the well-being of residents.

Our approach to care services:
-
is interprofessional and collaborative, engaging residents, families, and team members in decision-making that reflects resident preferences and needs;
-
aims to maximize and maintain the independence of residents and includes the Restorative Care Philosophy;
-
values continuity of care and the Primary Care model: with meaningful and stable relationships between residents and team members across all roles.
At Anson Place Care Centre, we recognize and value each team member as a unique individual beyond their role and title.
Our team members work with dignity, autonomy, respect for diversity, individual choice, purpose and security while fostering kindness and mindfulness in all interactions.
We support their personal and professional growth through ongoing education, training and resources.
We encourage team members to share their stories and talents with residents to enhance meaningful interactions and build trust, whilst maintaining therapeutic boundaries.
We seek and value feedback from residents, team members and family to continually strengthen our commitment to ethical, person-centered living.
Our commitment to Person Centred Living aligns with our Vision, To create communities of trust and fulfilment for our team members and residents, our Mission, To live a culture of distinction through our commitment to the well-being of our team members and residents, our Values of Kindness, Integrity, Progressive, and Community and finally our mantra of Connected Through Kindness.

Residents' Council
The Resident Council is made up of and represents all of the residents in our Home. The Council serves as a vehicle through which residents maintain a degree of control over their lives, share in the management of the Home and thereby contribute to the welfare of all involved.
The Council meets on a regular basis. During these meetings residents can voice their concerns or address any other issues. This forum allows residents the opportunity to network, share information and keep abreast of any new or upcoming changes happening in the Home.
Residents’ Council meets each month in the East Lounge on the 2nd floor. Meeting minutes are available on the Residents Council Board.
For further information regarding Residents’ Council, visit the Ontario Association of Residents’ Councils website:
Family Council
This is a wonderful opportunity for families/friends to meet in a relaxed atmosphere to discuss issues related to having a loved one in the Home. The Family Council is an organized, self-led group with the Social Services Coordinator providing support and guidance. The Family Council provides mutual support, advocacy, educational programs, activity sponsorship and offers the chance to give feedback to the Home. We invite and encourage participation in our Family Council!
Meeting notices are communicated to all families and are posted on the Family Council Board along with the minutes from the previous meeting.
